***** Mr. Volberding will check your attendance. If you're not present in school, you will not play!!!! All Games are played outside on the football practice field rain, snow or shine!!!!!!!!!!!

Rules

Only seven players are on the field at once.

No more than 10 players on a team.

Each half is 20 minutes long with running time.

Halftime is no longer than one minute.

Forfeit time is five minutes after game is supposed to start.

If a catch is made with one foot in bounds and the other foot is out of bounds, the catch is considered good.

Each team is allowed only 3 varsity football players per team.

Each touchdown is worth six points.

The P.A.T. (Point After Touchdown) is worth one point if the ball was placed 3 yards from the goal line. If the team earned two points, the ball was placed on the ten yard line.

All the players may run with the ball.

Any person running with the football may not guard the flag. They cannot use their hand/arm and block an opposing player from grabbing the flag. If this happens, the play is considered dead where the action has taken place and the play resumes. (Flag Guarding)

If the flag/s fall off during a run, the play is considered a dead ball. The following down continues where the flag has landed. (Flag Falling)

Any player that has tied the flag to the belt is automatically disqualified from the game, a 15 yard penalty and a automatic 1st down is given toward the opposing team. (Flag Tying)

The team must have a rusher. The rusher may not pass the line of scrimmage until the referee says “GO”. (the Referee will have a silent 3000 count rush- then yell “GO”)

Penalties:

Swearing- 5 yard penalty

Pass interference- 1st down where the penalty was made

Off sides (receiver or rusher before the snap of the ball)- 5 yard penalty and repeat the down

Too many players on the field- 5 yard penalty and a loss of a down.

Holding- 5 yard penalty

Roughing the passer- automatic 1st down and a 10 yard penalty

Delay of game- 5 yard penalty

Delay of Game- Each team is allowed one time out per game!!!!!! Each time out is 45 seconds. After the time is up, a delay of game is called. The time is stopped when the team has called a time out.

When time is called and the ball has been thrown into the air. Play continues until the ball is incomplete, touchdown, or the player has been tagged.

All students must have their Roosevelt school I.D.

Onside kicks are not allowed.

The tournament will be round robin style if there are enough teams.

Only Roosevelt students may participate in this event.

It is the responsibility of the captain to tell the rules and regulations of fair play before the game.

After the game, both captains must report who won and lost and what were their scores.

Tiebreakers will be played by having a team flip a coin. The winner of the coin toss chooses to play defense or offense. The team that scores first from the ten yard line wins the game in overtime.

Each team may earn a first down only by passing the middle cones.

If a team wishes to punt the ball they may do so.

Each team starts the game by performing a kickoff. They must also kickoff after a touchdown has been made.

Absolutely no substitutions or roster changes after the first game has been played. (Changes are allowed until the first game.)

Two forfeits result in elimination from the tournament.

If a team has earned a difference of 50 points within a game, the team with those points may not "continously celebrate" throughout the rest of the game. It displays unsportsmanship and a 5 yard penalty will be call for each infraction.
